This is coming along too; slowly but surely. Finished the inks and a quick colour study today
I intended to get this done before Christmas but that didn’t happen haha. Nevermind eh, Merry Christmas! :D
Well, after a few false starts (okay, okay, 4 hours of false starts) I think this is starting to come along nicely!
This was definitely a “wow, that escalated quickly” situation! I didn’t intend for this to end up so detailed, but I’m pretty happy with it. I need to change Elena’s expression, this started out as a quick little portrait but I ended up getting so lost in the background that now she just seems to be smiling in a sorta seductive way at a chain link fence =/
The setting of Overworld is starting to take shape in my head, I’m pretty excited about it!
Commission for a friend. He officially has the cutest dog in the world ever, which I probably completely bastardized here because I suddenly realised that I’d never drawn a dog before.
I should probably do something about that…
If you’re interested in commissions from my lovely self, I’m gonna have a loooooooooooot of spare time over Christmas (and, consequently, little money to pay rent with) so I’ll be accepting them at the end of next week. I’ll make some kind of hoo-hah about it near the time, keep your eyes peeled!
I finally finished the book commission I’ve been working on for the last month and a bit :D
This is the front cover from it. I finished it up this morning and the improvement I’ve made over the course of this project is really evident to me. I think I feel a lot more comfortable with, and excited by, colour now whereas before I always approached it with a bit of reluctance.
Anyway, now this projects is over hopefully I’ll be updating a bit more frequently :)
Hey look! A thing! A thing that I made!
Random commission I finished off as a break in a bigger commission that is currently swallowing all of my time x_x
I bought a brush and some ink the other day. I’ve only practiced with it a little bit but I think my digital inking has already leveled up because of it! I really recommend giving brush inking a go if you haven’t already.
Oh, and the Johnny Bravo resemblance is intentional :P
Sit down to whip up a model sheet.
Tweak design during the middle of it
Got the colours done. This is one of my few attempts at lighting and colouring a full scene. I don’t think I did too bad a job, overall. I’m pretty content with it.
This is also my first real environment in the re-worked setting of Overworld. I picture the Drifts, the outer ring of islands that are heavily affected by wind patterns and, thus, constantly shifting around, where Jean lives to be a mix of art-deco style junk salvaged from the more prestigious islands and no-frills craftmanship. I don’t know if I really pulled that off in this piece, but that’s the style I’m hoping to create for Overworld and I think this is a definite step in the right direction :D
